An accident

Editors, Asheville Global Report,

I ran across your cute little piece of shit website by accident. Do you morons not understand that we are America and we can by god invade any country we wish? Do you not understand we are “IT” and can do as we please? What is it about the greatness of huge companies such as Walmart, K-Mart, Enron, Exxon, and Coke that you don’t get?

Furthermore, Martha Stewart should be released along with Ken Lay and all others who worked so hard to make enron a profitable company. Howard Dean should be put in prison in their place, he is a negative while the innocent of Corporate America who are in jail are positives for our economy.

Bush should be made our President for Life. And all national forests should be opened for logging, drilling, or whatever industry where people could work and feed their families.

I am not kidding, this is the world I want to live in. Long live Bush, Rush, Annie Coulter, Sean Hannity, and Fox News.

Sen. Edwards fails vets

Dear Editors,

Here is a letter to Sen. John Edwards. Since Sen. Edwards refused to help and let the VA Break the Law! Is Sen. Edwards working for the VA and refusing to help the vets[?]

Sen. John Edwards:

Why are you letting Sec. of VA destroy medical records under Civil Service Retirement and Employee Assistance Program per Federal Court records? By doing this you allow VA Credit Union Judgment not to be overturned. (VA credit union Judgment in 1991) (Federal Court Records – VA claiming in 1993) EEO settlement in 1991 but Sec. of VA refusing to give records.

All the time the Sec. of VA claiming that I was abusing my sick leave while I was under VA doctor care. Would you please make the VA give me my (CSR record) and give me my home back, correct my credit card and give me my life back – under Social Security Disability. I have filed a Tort Claims for 25 million against the Sec. of VA (Sec. of VA refused to answer tort claims.)

Fecal contmination in meat

Editors, Asheville Global Report,

Thanks for your great article about mad cow disease. As usual, most of what you read about mad cow disease in the media is simply regurgitated United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) press releases telling you not to worry. I’ve seen little mention of the fact that USDA Secretary Ann Veneman’s Chief of Staff is the former executive director for legislative affairs for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. Now there’s something to chew on!

Some scientists think that mad cow disease will take a huge toll on Americans, and perhaps already is doing so. But since you already covered mad cow disease, I’d like to use a different example to illustrate just how little the government cares about public health. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that 73,000 people get sick from E.coli every year, and 61 die. E.coli is a bacterial disease that is spread by fecal contamination. Symptoms include watery or bloody diarrhea, fever, abdominal cramps, nausea, and vomiting. Most people who get E.coli poisoning confuse it with the flu.

During the last major E.coli outbreak, did the USDA ever suggest that we slow down slaughterhouse lines to do a better job of removing fecal contamination from meat before sending it to market? No, that would cost money, and the USDA represents the industry, not consumers. So people were instead told to cook their meat (and shit) at high temperatures to kill the bacteria.

The CDC estimates that 76 million Americans get sick, more than 300,000 are hospitalized, and 5,000 people die from food borne illnesses each year. The majority of these illnesses are caused by the consumption of animal products. Most chickens and turkeys are contaminated with salmonella, which is passed to humans both in flesh and in eggs.

Science has already shown that consuming meat, milk and eggs contributes to heart disease, stroke, cancer, obesity, and a myriad of other diseases. There’s never been a better time to go vegan! To learn more, go to www.GoVeg.com.
